Here at Bresse Star Chick Hatchery we specialize in the great American Bresse Chicken. We are NPIP Certified. To become NPIP Certified the State Veternarian or an Authorized person must come to your place of business and do a blood test on your adult chickens. If just one chicken does not pass the test our whole flock has the possiblity of being destroyed. We are dedicated to helping those who are looking for outstanding, quality, and healthy chickens that they can feed and raise at home without stress. Our goal is to provide happiness and welfare to our feathered friends and all those who are involved in the process. We provide expert care to make sure that our chickens are happy and healthy. We are a state-licensed business with years of experience raising chickens however still trying to learn all we can about the American Bresse chicken. In fact we would totally encourage you and we solicite you to please let us know what you are seeing and what ages they are when you see different things come up with your Chicks/ Chickens. We want to know if a chick/chicken starts showing a black or brown feather. We want to know if one or all your Roosters have red earlopes. Plus all the other things that could show up. You will not be hurting our feelings at all. The only reason our feelings will be hurt is if you do not tell us. We are thoroughly dedicated to providing you with our high-quality chickens with the best genetics we can produce and we care and making sure that you can reap the benefits of our years of experience. Of course, we acknowledge that there are many other caring breeders that offer for sale quality chicks and are trying to keep on the journey of breeding towards a better chicken. We would like to Thank those breeders that have helped us in learning more about this American Bresse Chicken.
 It still astounds us to see how many generations it takes to profect this great chicken the American Bresse. We purchased our breeding stock of American Bresse Chickens from 5 well known established breeders. Some breeders chicks developed with very nice wide bodies with great width between the legs. The Roosters combs develped nicely with over 50% with 5 -6 point combs. However their feet and legs never turned very blue or dark slate in color. Their feathering was not right. However they are my most doccile line of American Bresse I have ever seen. That Breeder has been working with their line since 2014. Another breeder has a line that has been worked with seriously for over 10 years and we still have chicks as they matured showing Black or reddish brown feathering. Over 1/2 the roosters had combs that are not desirable. However they have very dark Slate or Blue legs and feet that are awesome looking !   
So what I am getting at is even though I bought from some of the very best breeders and they have been culling and breeding only the their best going forward I still received alot of less desireable chickens. Is American Bresse Chick Hatchery going to be any different is the question? WE would like to say "Yes" very few of our chickens will be less desireable. The Majority will be nice. HOWEVER we would be saying an untruth and would loose you as a customer after your 1st order. Sadly our chicks are not perfect either. However I Promise we really are taking the very Best chickens that we received from these great breeders and trying to live up to our Motto " Breeding Towards a Better Chicken." Each year that you purchase from us you will be getting our next improved generation line of chicks.
