We are dedicated here at Bresse Star Chick Hatchery to providing our customers with high-quality American Bresse, Rhode Island Red chicks. We do our best to ensure that our chicks leave our farm in excellent condition as well as our best quality, giving our customers and their chicks the best experience possible. We take a personalized approach to each customer, giving them the support and information that they need to keep their chickens healthy and happy.
We have had some inquires to wether we buy our chicks from some place else or are we truly a breeder/hatchery. The answer is a resounding "Yes". Yes every chick you will receive will have been layed by hens we raised and bred right here on our property here in Perry , Utah. We are Mail Order Hatchery and not open to the public at our Perry Utah Location due to Biosecurity protocall. Special arrangements can be made for our local customers.
We are just a small breeder/hatchery and we have found emails work best for us to run our small business. We understand the importance of having healthy chickens that are content with their living conditions, which is why we focus on providing our customers with the best chicks possible. We strive to ensure that our customers and their chicks receive the greatest satisfaction from their experience with us and from our line of these breeds of chickens we have for sale. Please remember that American Bresse Chicks need to be fed a higher protein than alot of other chicken breeds. We feel that the chickens turn out better when fed the higher protein. 20% minimum but 21% to 24% would be ideal if feed is coming from some big box stores since some of their feed is possibly 6 months old when you purchase it. If mixing up a Fertrell based feed and using the feed within 60 days max (prefer using it within 14-30 days is ideal)The Fertrell based feeds do not in all cases need to be the higher protein since the formula is made from the ground up so to speak. We have also noticed our Chicks do much better on a Vitamin & Mineral Supplement. I would suggest that one of the minerals you would for sure want to supplement is the Trace mineral Mangenese. Fertrell Vitamin and Mineral supplements have exactly what chicks especially need as well as your chickens. For years when I was raising chicks I did not worry much about the supplementing my chick feed. I waited till they started laying eggs and then would start feeding them better. Boy was I ever wrong back in those days. Chicks are when they should be getting the highest protein and best Supplements you can get. By doing this your chicks will develope better and have a much much better resistance to disease when they are older. Mix Fertrell Nutri- Balancer with the chicks feed and offer free choice of Chick grit will go along long ways to a healthier flock.
