How we fell into this crazy world of chickens

One day a 16 year old young man that had just joined the Future Farmers of America the month before, was asked to run a very large incubator/hatcher at a mall exhibit during the week of Easter break. This young man was asked to show the kids and adults the baby chicks as they were hatching. He was to then answer questions about what was happening. To make a long story short the young man was given 100 chicks as his payment for helping with the exibit. I was that young man. I came home and told my parents I was just given 100 chicks. We did not live on a farm and they asked, "what are we going to do with that many chicks?" Well we survived and got through it and 50 years later here we are still raising chickens off and on. We finally decided to specialize and hatch chicks and sell them throughout the lower 48 States here in the USA.  Thus was born Bresse Star Chick Hatchery.
